VICTORIA DOYLE, Candidate for Congress FL-22
After 10 years in the District, Victoria feels it's time for change. She sees how many Democrats in Congress are clinging to a failing status quo. New energy and fresh ideas - unbeholden to special interests - are sorely needed to resist Trump II, and progress a worker-centered Democratic agenda. Victoria is a lawyer, mother, and Lake Worth Beach resident. Victoria plans to address Florida's affordability crisis head on, along with the climate crisis, gun violence crisis, extreme income inequality, and our unfair tax system that grossly benefits the ultra rich. She is clear about placing blame where blame should lie, i.e., on unchecked greed and dark campaign money, not on hard-working, tax-paying immigrants or tiny minority groups. Victoria will be a representative for ALL in the District, and is committed to holding regular, public community-engagement sessions while serving in Congress.
PHILIP KATZ, Campaign Manager
Philip is a nationally recognized arts producer and activist. While living in Los Angeles in the early 1980's, he helped lead ACT UP and the Stop AIDS Los Angeles project during the early AIDS crisis. Following a move back to New York City, he expanded Broadway’s reach through top-tier consulting, audience development and sales and marketing services. He produced national youth programs and produced the opening number of the Macy’s Thanksgiving Day Parade for three years. At the same time, he returned to his activism passion - this time for LGBTQ+ rights and same sex marriage. Consulting for the international cruise industry brought him to south Florida where he focused on experiential and immersive onboard experiences. Today, along with his husband of more than 25 years, he’s focused on high-impact voter mobilization in Florida and the immediate need for change in Congress.
SHAWNA BUSCH, Campaign Volunteer Coordinator
Shawna Busch is a 36 year old mom to her 12 year old daughter in Citrus County, Florida. Born and raised in Rhode Island, and moving to Florida in 2007, Shawna has seen firsthand the challenges that are Florida politics. She has a great reputation working with non-partisan and democratic groups in Citrus County, and has worked with DECs and coalitions to bring a different perspective to democrataic organizations & engagements. She worked on Josh Weil's Congressional and Senate campaigns and has since started Political Consulting through her company Nature Coast Strategies- bringing her experience with rural engagement and strategizing to counties who have long since been abandoned by bigger firms. She aims to use aggressive yet empathetic strategies to modernize DECs and outreach in areas lacking the resources and money to do so. With a background in Sales, Trade Shows, lead generation, marketing and advertising, she is eager to again use that knowledge to engage with volunteers and form an army of change.
JOSH WEIL, Campaign Strategist
Weil is a 41-year-old teacher and single father of two boys in Orlando. Through his Congressional and Senate run, Weil has been endorsed and supported by numerous organizations including the Florida Education Association, the Florida LGBTQ+ Democratic Caucus, and Progressives for Democracy in America — Florida Chapter. Weil's theory is that there are two groups of dissatisfied voters: Democrats and those who voted for Republicans who didn't bargain on the direction Trump has taken. Following a nationally watched campaign for U.S. Congress in Florida District 6, Josh Weil came up 14 points short to Republican Randy Fine in a special congressional election. However, he stunned political observers by raising more than $15 million in a district that had elected a Republican by 33 points just five months earlier.
